now also available on Linux. it includes the Sindarin dictionary, additional lexicons and a
complete Sindarin corpus.
The latest version is Dragon Flame 2.0, released in December 2003. Here is a brief
list of the new and exciting features added to the software since version 1.0 was first
released in December 2002...
-
Extented search functions with regular expressions (see Edit
menu). Great for those wanting to find and analyse similar patterns.
-
Automated Tengwar transcription (based on the TTT engine and Mans Bjorkman's
modes -- courtesy of the YaTT development team)
-
Link to on-line dictionaries (e.g. Webster's) when your internet
connection is active (see Tools menu). Great for non-native
English speakers (such as myself!) who sometimes need to check a
definition.
-
Updated documentation (see Help menu).
-
Source code included (for those who want to help improving
the software).
-
The "Check updates" feature (broken in DF 1.0) is disabled
by default (reserved for wizards only).
-
Fixes and improvements in the history mechanism.
-
DF 2.0 embeds a new version of the Sindarin Dictionary (lexicon
version 0.993) including several corrections, a few additional
entries, and a major re-work of all entries (better presentation;
indications of register, domain, etc. when possible; parts
of definitions moved to the etymologies or marked as definition
"hints"; some additional discussions entered; some definitions
changed...).
Download Dragon Flame 2.0 and simply enjoy!
