The doors of Durin, lord of Moria: say "friend" and enter. I, Narvi, made them: Celebrimbor of hollin drew these signs. |
This early version of the inscription differs from the final stage mainly by differences in grammatical mutation of initial consonants: Tolkien revised the rules when turning Noldorin to Sindarin.
