You expect complete silence and rapt attention when a nude Angelina Jolie emerges from the waters of an underground lagoon. But am I the only one who suspects that the intention of director Robert Zemeckis and writers Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary was satirical?<p>[...] I'm serious when I say the movie is funny. Some of the dialogue sounds like "Monty Python." No, most of the dialogue does. "I didn't hear him coming," a wench tells a warrior. "You'll hear me," he promises. Grendel is ugly beyond all meaning. His battles are violent beyond all possibility. His mother (Jolie) is like a beauty queen in centerfold heaven. Her own final confrontation with Beowulf beggars description. Ha ! Ha ! ;o) <br>Ils n'y vont pas avec le dos de la cuillère, décidément... Comme quoi, je n'avais pas tort de supposer qu'il y aurait non seulement de la violence, mais aussi de la sensualité... ;op <br>Par contre, j'avoue ne pas avoir particulièrement envisagé que le film soit hilarant... Mais, après tout, pourquoi pas ? ;o)<br>Maintenant, celà dit, je me demande encore plus à quoi va ressembler cette histoire...<p>Bah... Au moins on est prévenu... mais il y a bien longtemps que j'ai appris à me méfier des critiques, qui sont en général aussi subjectifs que n'importe quel spectateur... Du reste, si les places de cinéma n'étaient pas aussi chères, on n'aurait pas besoin d'eux... Dans ce cas précis, je jugerai par moi-même, bien que j'avoue éprouver, plus que jamais, une certaine inquiétude vis-à-vis de ce film, qui sort en France mercredi prochain, 21 novembre...<p><i>Wait and see</i>... <p>Cordialement, :-)<p>Hyarion.
