Voici deux liens sur Simon Tolkien et son nouveau roman, No Man's Land. Publié chez HarperCollins, il se déroule en partie pendant la bataille de la Somme.

My latest novel, No Man’s Land, has a real nexus with my grandfather. He fought at the Somme in World War I. None of the letters he wrote during the war survived. He said almost nothing about it to anybody, which was not unusual.

Frodo is a real war veteran – when he comes back after what he’s been through, he is in an actual sense like a world war one veteran. He’s not there any more. He’s grown old before his time, and this is what happened to them. It made all these young men, so fresh-faced and eager, old before their time.
