Vu le nom de la rubrique, ce message a parfaitement sa place ici. Le poete Seamus Heaney, prix nobel de literature, a ecrit ceci dans la preface a sa traduction de Beowulf il y a deux ou trois ans:
"However, when it comes to considering Beowulf as a work of literature, one publication stands out. In 1936, the Oxford scholar and teacher J.R.R. Tolkien published an epoch-making paper entitled "Beowulf:The Monsters and the Critics", which took for granted the poem's integrity and distinction as a work of art and proceeded to show in what this integrity and distinction inhered.[...]
Tolkien's literary treatment changed the way the poem was valued and initated a new era - and new terms - of appreciation."
