Je crois que tu te trompes, dans la citation il est dis que les Hobbits étaient sujets du Royaume du Nord, que leur Roi était le souverain de ce royaume et non que la comté était une Monarchie elle-même.

Je ne crois pas qu'un roi se fasse choisir par la population ;) de plus il est clairement écrit "to hold the authority" que je traduirai par "détenteur de l'autorité du roi en attendant son retour". Le rôle du Thain est plus proche de celui de l'Intendant du Gondor que du Roi lui-même (voir même, celui de Connétable de la Comté).
La Comté était une province "autonome" de l'Arthedain (jusqu'en 1975 T.A. et la chute de Fornost) et non du Royaume du Nord qui fut divisé en 3 royaumes/principautés en 861 T.A. (un air de partition de l'Empire de Carlus Magnus en... 843 :D).
J'ai comme un doute sur la véracité de mes dires... La Comté en tant que telle (An 1 de la Comté = passage du Brandevin par "Marcho and Blanco" = 1605 T.A.) n'a jamais été incluse dans le Royaume du Nord (sauf avec la reprise en main d'Elessar) si la date de partition est juste, pourtant :

... Je ne comprend plus sur ce coup là! Incohérence de Tolkien? Ou erreur dans mes données sur la disparition du Royaume du Nord en 3 Principautés?
