Cette conception (une année valienne est plus ou moins 10 années du Soleil : "nine and one half and eight hundred ths and yet a little" 9,58) est à *mon* avis "erroné" (interne) (pourquoi de cette erreur restent à trouver/découvrir) ou (externe) puisque T a changé d'avis.
On trouve ensuite (ds le temps de la vie de T.) qu'une "année valienne" se dit un "yén", soit 144 loar.
Je cite C. Tolkien : "In notes not given in this book (HOMe 10 [notes que CT n'a jamais publiées et dont on ne sait rien jusqu'à aujourd'hui]), in which my father was calculating on this basis the time of the Awakening of Men, he expressly stated that 144 Sun Years = 1 Valian Year (in this connection see Appendix D to The Lord of the Rings: 'It seems clear that the Eldar in Middle-earth... reckoned in long periods, and the Quenya word yen... really means 144 of our years')."
