Bien vu Jérôme et Elendil, confirmé par l'intertexte possible avec Jean 12, 24 :

Il faudrait donc traduire <i>corn</i> tout simplement par <i>grain</i> (sous-entendu : de blé, et non de maïs effectivement), mais comme dans la même phrase Tolkien utilise déjà le mot <i>grains</i>...
