J'avais oublié une petite note de vocabulaire amusante :

Qu'est-ce qu'un <i>loon</i> ?

Soit en français un "<a href="http://www.oiseaux.net/oiseaux/gaviiformes/plongeon.arctique.html" target="_new">plongeon arctique</a>" d'après mon dico. N'allez pas me demander comment les Hobbits connaissaient les plongeons arctiques, je n'en sais rien :). Il est plus probable qu'il s'agisse d'un des nombreux "plongeons" existants, plus proche de nos latitudes : <a href="http://www.oiseaux.net/oiseaux/gaviiformes/plongeon.a.bec.blanc.html" target="_new">plongeon à bec blanc</a>, ou <a href="http://www.oiseaux.net/oiseaux/gaviiformes/plongeon.imbrin.html" target="_new">plongeon imbrin</a>, ou le <a href="http://www.oiseaux.net/oiseaux/gaviiformes/plongeon.catmarin.html" target="_new">plongeon catmarin</a> (entre autres)... En tout cas, en français ce mot n'a pas le double sens d'oiseau/idiot. La bécasse (masculin <i>bécasson</i> chez nous... apparement en français normal c'est plutôt <i>bécasseau</i> ou <i>bécassin</i>, on ne présente plus la <i>bécassine</i> nationale) l'a donc remplacé : il existe une <i><a href="http://www.oiseaux.net/oiseaux/charadriiformes/becassine.des.marais.html" target="_new">bécassine des marais</a></i> qui pourrait faire l'affaire.
