Je reviens sur la traduction _suèdoise_ que Tolkien a eu du mal à supporter.<p>On peut retrouver cette épisode à la Lettre 188 à Allen & Unwin (p. 248). Cette lettre, précisons-le, date du 3 avril 1956. Cette lettre d'ailleurs fait référence à la traduction du "Hobbit" et non, comme je l'ai cru de prime abord, à celle du "Seigneur des Anneaux".<p>"I wish to avoid a repetition of my experience with the Swedish translation of <i>The Hobbit</i>. I discovered that this had taken unwarranted liberties with the text and other details, without consultation or approval; it was also unfavourably criticized in general by a Swedish expert, familiar with the original, to whom I submitted it. I regard the texte (in all its details) of <i>The Lord of the Rings</i> far more jealously. No alterations, major or minor, re-arrangements, or abridgments of this text will be approved by me - unless they proceed from myself of from direct consultation. I earnestly hope that this concern of mine will be taken account of."<p>On s'en rend compte, il ne devait normalement y avoir aucun problème dans les traductions du "Seigneur des Anneaux". Malheureusement, ca n'a pas toujours été le cas pour la version française...<p>
